Job Responsibilities

This position provides wellness/recreation assistance such as program planning and implementing, as assigned, in a caring, safe and efficient manner and is responsible to perform the following according to location standards and procedures.

Assists in planning programs that are varied and well-balanced to address residents' individual physical, emotional, social, vocational and intellectual needs and interests. Leads or assists with providing resident programs both within and outside of the community. Assists with determining whether residents' needs and interests are being met through program involvement. Encourages and assists residents with transportation to activities of choice. Interacts with residents and maintains resident-centered conversations. Review calendar of events and notifies residents of calendar availability and scheduled programs.

Qualifications

Prior work experience in healthcare is preferred to be hired for this job. Completion of an activity training program or ability to complete such program approved by the location is preferred.

Ability to communicate and comprehend; ability to measure and comprehend certain quantities; ability and desire to be creative in adapting programs and supplies to meet individual resident needs.
