Job Details
Part-time temporary adjunct instructor(s) to teach mechanical fundamental courses and hands-on labs in the Mechanical Maintenance Technology program. Classes include a variety of topics related to the installation, operation and maintenance of plant equipment and systems. Equipment operation includes valves, pumps, compressors and turbines associated with various industrial piping and mechanical systems. The on-campus courses are Monday - Friday 8:30 - 2:30.
Other responsibilities include submitting grades by the established deadline and other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and/or the Dean of NECE.
Minimum Requirements
- Prior employment in a power plant, process plant, industrial energy facility, or manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of specific mechanical equipment, systems and fundamental safety aspects associated with industrial facilities.
- Good computer software skills.
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Appropriate college degree.
- Extensive industry experience.
- Curriculum development, teaching and/or training experience.
- Industry certifications (mechanical, electrical or welding).
