A Typical Day in the Life

The NetSuite Program Manager (PMO) is a primary bridge between our customers and internal teams. This key position coordinates the delivery of complex projects, manages a team of PMP certified project managers, and participates in the strategic development of a Unified PMO Program Management initiative.

A typical day as a NetSuite Program Manager might include:
  • Improving Visibility - Visibility that allows program management office (PMO) leaders to transparently predict risk to project outcomes might be the single most impactful task your PMO fulfills. Having visibility into the portfolio enables everyone to be on the same page and make decisions based on accurate data rather than gut feel.
  • Delivering Value Beyond 'On Time, On Budget' - Ensuring you are measuring toward the right KPIs through proper portfolio management will empower assessment of projects against business needs, allocating resources effectively, and executing projects to gain the most impact for Eide Bailly and our clients.
  • Promoting the portfolio-level value and optimization - The PMO can be flexible and powerful using modelling to get a handle on risks, identify and conquer constraints, while shortening and eliminating critical paths. With PMO governance and templates you can stop reinventing the wheel on every project and move away from manual and labor-intensive data management. Continuous feedback and optimization allow the PMO to get better every time a project is completed and delivered.
  • Proving Business Value - Your decisions are backed up by metrics and your metrics prove your PMO has enhanced value to fulfilling business requirements. Stakeholders see hard data proving exactly how your program management office delivers tangible and meaningful strategic power.

A typical year as a NetSuite Program Manager might include:
  • Delivery:
    • Overseeing portfolio of programs and projects while delivering on all program/project commitments from concept to production.
    • Responsible for project scope, schedule and budget. Ensuring projects are completed according to agreed-upon plan.
    • Ensuring that billable projects remain on schedule and within budget.
    • Managing overall PMO/Project Management organization financials and project profitability including resource scheduling, revenue forecasting per project, billing reconciliations, expense reports and time approval for project work, etc. while exercising risk and issue management.
  • Process/Tools:
    • Developing, maintaining and enforcing program and project management methodologies, standards, governance, and tools in order to achieve the clients' operational and financial and project quality goals.
  • KPI's:
    • Responsible for setting clear objectives, KPIs for the projects/practice and clearly communicating results to the business on a regular cadence. (Examples include project/portfolio financials, utilization and contract management).
  • Sales:
    • Collaborating with sales in pre-sales activities such as project sizing and cost estimates, bid reviews and contract reviews.
  • Reporting:
    • Delivering overall messaging of status or issues to key internal/external partners and clients. Providing project or account dashboard; execution QA report; top project or account risks and issues (common issues).
  • Staffing:
    • Managing and recommending allocation and integration of project resources to meet commitments and objectives
    • Optimizing resource or practice billable utilization while forecasting resources, skill supply and demand
  • Professional Development:
    • Improving overall project and program management skills and experience through hiring and training.
