North Dakota State University invites applications and nominations for the position of Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships with an anticipated start date of early January, 2021. The Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships reports to the Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management and is an integral part of a team which develops strategies to support student access and success and contributing to the achievement of NDSU's enrollment and retention goals. The Director is responsible for administration, planning, and leadership of a comprehensive financial aid program consisting of over $125 million annually in federal, state, and institutional funds. The Director leads an office of 15 full-time staff members and ensures full compliance with all federal/state regulations and reporting.

NDSU is seeking a collaborative leader with an understanding of the integral role of financial aid in supporting student enrollment, student success and student services, and an ability to adapt strategy as needed to achieve student and institutional enrollment goals.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
• Progressive levels of experience with 5+ years experience in higher education
• Broad understanding of scholarship programs and federal financial aid regulations.
• Functional experience with student information systems
• Ability to motivate/lead professional staff members
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion
•Demonstrated commitment to customer service
•Experience managing complex workflows in an educational setting (including developing and implementing operational systems, interpreting regulations, and reporting)

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree
• Budget management experience
• Demonstration of progressive levels of experience within a financial aid office in an institution of higher education
•Record of successful leadership in the use and implementation of software used for financial aid and scholarship processing
•Demonstrated skill in leading and motivating professional staff members
• Knowledge of enrollment trends and financial aid strategies used to influence enrollment
• Thorough knowledge of financial aid policies, processes and regulations
