Job Responsibilities

This position provides care to assigned residents in a caring, safe and efficient manner and is responsible to perform the following according to location standards, procedures and individualized resident care plans.

Helps residents with outerwear or shoes as needed. Assures residents' needs are met by willing employees (self or others). Assists residents by passing snacks and trays, pouring beverages as needed, and maintaining pleasant dining atmosphere. Assists residents in maintaining proper and clean appearance. Safeguards residents' property. Maintains residents' self-esteem, privacy and confidentiality of personal information. Provides residents with opportunities for independence and choice consistent with their care plans. Keeps residents' living areas pleasant and orderly. Measure body functions and documents care provided to residents. Receives and shares information; observes and reports residents' conditions to appropriate staff. Works with team members and other staff members in a helpful, respectful and courteous manner. Assists residents in meeting their social needs through interaction with staff, family and other residents. Responds appropriately to resident requests for help and maintains positive relationships with residents' friends and family members. Responds promptly to residents' call lights.

Qualifications

A high school education or higher education is not required to be hired into this job. Continued employment will require completion of an accredited nursing assistant training program or ability to satisfactory complete an accredited training program approved by the center/campus and the state in which the center/campus is located.

Ability to communicate and comprehend; ability to measure and comprehend certain quantities.
