Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assists in implementing the nursing process throughout the care continuum under the direction of the physician, registered nurse, advanced practice registered nurse, or licensed practitioner. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible to implement the nursing process within Sanford Health and the continuum of care. LPN: This practice includes dependent and interdependent functions. In addition the licensed practical nurse may assist with the direct resident care, recreational therapy services, environmental care, restorative care, equipment use, and food preparation and services.
RN: The nursing process is utilized to assess, diagnose, establish a plan with outcome criteria, intervene, evaluate, and document human responses to actual or potential health problems. This practice includes dependent, interdependent and independent functions.

Department Details

This is a full-time position, 64 hour every pay period. Shifts are from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. This position can be filled with either an LPN or RN.

Qualifications

LPN: Must have graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing program leading to licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Long term care, sub-acute care, medical/surgical experience preferred. Specific services/positions may have additional education, training, or experience requirements. Requires current licensure as a practical nurse in the state/states of practice.

RN: Must have graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing. Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred. Specific services/positions may have additional education, training or experience requirements. Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as a RN (or LPN) at another facility. Requires current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state, or states, of practice. Nurses performing nursing practice over the telephone require licensure in the states where the patients being served reside. Certification may be required depending on specialty or service area.
