The University of Wisconsin River Falls, a member of the University of Wisconsin System, is located in scenic west central Wisconsin, 30 miles from the multi-cultural, multi-ethnic cities of Minneapolis and St Paul. UWRF's 6,100 undergraduate and graduate students pursue degrees in four colleges: Arts and Sciences, Education and Professional Studies; Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences; and Business and Economics.

The Position: This is a 12-month, full-time position. The Student Health Nurse will provide nursing care, health information and counseling, and outreach and advocacy for UW-River Falls students, primarily at the current site for contracted clinical health services through Student Health Services, currently Vibrant Health Family Clinic, practicing under the policies and procedures of this clinic. Work collaboratively to assure up-to-date, accurate, pertinent health-related information and education in various formats for use in a variety of situations for UWRF students and the campus community, including providing presentations to students, parents, faculty, staff, and community members. Participate in campus related meetings events, programs, in-services, presentations, etc. Advocate for appropriate health related policies and practices for campus, in collaboration with appropriate partners. Assist and provide support for the Director of Student Health and Counseling Services including in regard to contracts, budgets, Student Health and Counseling Services representation, etc.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
*Provide nursing support for the care of UWRF Students at Vibrant Family Health Clinic (assisting and supporting health care providers serving students, assisting in triaging and follow-up for student patients, keeping current on clinic policies and procedures, etc.)-55%
*Monitor and assure provisions of health services agreement with Vibrant Health Family Clinic for clinical health services through UWRF Student Health and Counseling Services is running smoothly, and to follow up and work to resolve any concerns or issues. Serve as a liaison between the University and Vibrant Health Family Clinic for students and clinic staff and providers together with the Director of Student Health and Counseling Services (SHCS Director)-10%
*Work with the SHCS Director, and others in the department and on campus and in the community, to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive college Student Health Services. This includes assisting the SHCS Director in facilitating the provision of care and services for students at contracted locations-10%
*Work with the SHCS Director and staff and others on campus and in the community to establish and tailor mission, scope, priorities, goals, core values, and vision for Student Health Services policies, services, and programming. This includes collaboratively determining needs and providing and facilitating collaborative appropriate services, education, policies, interventions, and follow-up-5% Keep updated and informed on current issues pertinent in college health and work collaboratively to assure up-to- date, accurate, pertinent health-related information and education-5%
*Attend and participate in staff meetings, planning retreats and other applicable meetings and educational sessions, in-services or workshops and other professional development opportunities-5%
*Provide assistance and support with the SHCS Director on various other tasks as needed including assisting with contract development/negotiation/implementation/monitoring, providing data/information to assist in making service and programmatic decisions, participate in budget advocacy and development, serving as back-up for the SHCS Director for committees, meetings and taskforces and Student Health Services, and provide assistance and support for the SHCS Director and staff on various other tasks as needed-10%

Qualifications Required:
*Minimum of Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field
*Current licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin
*Minimum of three years of applicable experience, such as clinical work in an outpatient setting
*Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including experience in public speaking

Qualifications Preferred:
*Experience in college health or with college students or young adults
*Have demonstrated a commitment to enhancing awareness and appreciation of diversity and inclusivity
