Job Responsibilities
  • This position provides care, supervision and management to children in a caring, safe and efficient manner and is responsible to perform the following according to location standards and procedures.
  • Helps children with dressing and undressing and maintaining proper clothing.
  • Helps children with toileting needs, with meals and in meeting dietary needs.
  • Assists with curriculum development that meets children's needs, and leads or assists with activities.
  • Keeps daycare areas pleasant and orderly. Maintains children's self-esteem, privacy and confidentiality of personal information. Provides children with opportunities for independence and choice consistent with their development level.
  • Observes and documents children's behaviors, mood, conditions and daily activities, and provides information to parents, director, and other appropriate staff.
  • Receives and shares information.
  • Follows industry child safety protocols (infants sleeping on their back).
  • Assists children in safe and proper conduct during emergency drills.
  • Washes children's hands and appropriate body areas as needed.
  • Cleans work areas and children's play areas.
  • Cleans and sterilizes dishes, toys and equipment per facility policy and procedure.
  • Handles soiled children's clothing according to facility policy and procedure.

Qualifications

High school education is required. Higher education is not required to be hired into this job. Specific training per state requirements.

Prior work experience may not be required to be hired into this job.

Basic ability to communicate and comprehend; ability to measure and comprehend certain quantities.
