Sodexo Universities has an opportunity for an Executive Chef 2 for our long standing partnership at Marian University located in Fond du Lac, WI, approximately one hour from Milwaukee, Madison and Green Bay. The Executive Chef will oversee all food operations on campus. Resident Dining supports approximately 550 students on meal plans in an all-you-care-to-eat program from 7:30am - 7:00pm with five stations, including a salad bar, dessert station, pizza station, main entree/grill and an action station throughout the academic year. Our Retail location is Sammie's Custom Sub Shop with Starbuck's We Proudly Serve. Sammie's is a popular hangout amongst the students and supports many extra-curricular activities for the students. Caterings handled throughout campus and off site, throughout the year, including Summer Conferences and Camps.

The successful candidate will:

  • be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting;
  • be strong mentor, team player - high activity and involvement with students and client;
  • ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented;
  • have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations;
  • ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance; and/or
  • have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems.

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:

  • 3+ years of culinary/food service leadership experience, preferably within a college/university setting, or other high volume dining operation.
  • Proven leadership ability and hands-on culinary skills are essential.
  • Passion for food; self-starter attitude; desire to learn and grow.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Computer literacy - knowledge of food management systems is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of food safety/sanitation.
  • Culinary degree (preferred).

Job Requirements:

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
