Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Status:  $70,000 plus/Annual, Full-time, Benefited, Exempt
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage, basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual leave, and sick leave. Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, flexible spending account, and supplemental retirement plans.
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, typically 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with flexibility

  • Establishing and maintaining effective policies, procedures, and guidelines for proposal budget development, fund management, and resource information management for the EERC to ensure compliance with federal, state, and University regulations/policies and contractual terms and conditions.
  • Developing and producing accurate and informative project and executive-level reports and other data mining as requested by senior management.
  • Developing and administering the Resource Management and Proposal Database systems to generate accurate and timely information related to proposals, fund management, project management, and resource projections.
  • Participating in and overseeing the development of recharge center rates that accurately reflect the centers’ budget and expected activity.
  • Accurately preparing the proposal budgets and related proposal information in a timely manner.
  • Exercising sound judgement in assisting the PI in estimating project costs.
  • Providing professional verbal and written communication to sponsors, subcontractors/subrecipients, and other partners and stakeholders.
  • Thoroughly reviewing the proposal text relative to the proposal budget and other financial aspects to ensure the proposal meets the proposal requirements and other applicable regulations and guidelines.
  • Working alongside and as a team with the proposal manager in all aspects to ensure a quality and timely submission.
  • Backing up the proposal manager in areas such as completing the proposal checklist, assigning proposal numbers, coordinating submission, etc.
  • Setting up and reviewing budgets of assigned research projects and recharge centers.
  • Monitoring, reviewing, and managing project expenditures in a timely manner and according to procedures, applicable regulations, and contract terms and conditions.
  • Effectively working with project managers to resolve budget issues and complete financial reports.
  • Coordinating professional written and verbal correspondence to sponsors and partners as needed throughout the life of the project.
  • Providing fund status reports, personnel projections, and various other reports to EERC staff on a timely basis.
  • Developing other reports as needed for project managers.
  • Overseeing, directing, and organizing the work of the budget analyst group.
  • Establishing and monitoring team performance, assigning and assessing development goals, establishing priorities, conducting performance reviews, and administering salary adjustments.
  • Mentoring and developing staff.
  • Promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values customer service.
  • Ensuring team members receive appropriate training and professional development.
  • Working as a team with other support teams to develop and implement procedures for efficient and effective business operations.
  • May require some travel.

Minimum Requirements
:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Five years of progressive experience in a business setting
  • Experience with Microsoft  Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Resume and cover letter must be submitted along with application
  • Successful completion of criminal history background check
