The Role: The User Experience (UX) Designer is responsible for ensuring a consistent and effective user experience for our applications. Ensure that applications are powerful, engaging and rewarding by taking a user-centered design approach. Create navigational structures, conceptual frameworks, wireframes, process flows, and interaction specifications for digital experiences in collaboration with a cross-functional business and technology teams and key stakeholders. Help transform business and user requirements in to highly effective and usable digital solutions.

Responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Manage user experience initiatives, including the development of wireframes, mock-ups and other project deliverables to illustrate the intended user experience.
  • Collaborates with the project team and stakeholders to understand user needs and objectives, business goals, requirements, and constraints, including business analysts, Product Owners, subject matter experts and partners.
  • Translates business and user requirements into defined UX documentation and specifications that meet as many needs as possible for the business and the user.
  • Engages with internal resources ensuring deliverables are of high quality and consistent with best practices and established patterns and guidelines.
  • Develops low fidelity wireframes and prototypes.
  • Creates accessible interaction modules, screen layouts, style guides, pattern libraries, images, icons and other visual elements for approved and funded projects.
  • Applies and updates existing brand (visual and interaction) standards and pattern library / design system to accommodate new products and features.
  • Conduct usability testing to obtain direct user feedback and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
  • Analyzes user feedback to identify trends and recommend changes that will improve the user experience.
  • Formally observes user interviews and usability sessions
  • Serves as the user experience representative in the development of applications, balancing business and user needs within the project.
  • Champions the user perspective in the systems development process and brings a strong interaction design viewpoint.
  • Apply user experience design principles to create innovative, user-centered designs to build and manage a consistent user experience.
  • Incorporates user research and usability testing results to improve the user experience.
  • Understands project and systems constraints and works with the project team to improve the solution within them.
  • Present design ideas, including rationale based on customer research and best practices, to the product development team and other key stakeholders.


Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Design, Computer Science
  • 3 or more years of proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role
  • Sample Product Design portfolio online link or PDF file
  • Knowledge of industry tools such as Sketch, InVision, Adobe XD, Figma, and Balsamiq, Zeplin, Abstract
  • Experience creating style guides and pattern libraries
  • Ability to work in a cross-channel environment, including desktop/laptop, mobile, devices and brick-and-mortar locations
  • Experience working in Scrum Agile Software Development (Jira, Confluence)
  • Prior startup experience, or work as an independent contractor preferred
  • Previous experience in the construction industry is desirable but not required
