Job Summary
Responsible to promote a safe and healthy workforce and environment. Implements the nursing process within the Sanford injury management department and the continuum of care. The nursing process is utilized to assess, diagnose, establish a plan with outcome criteria, intervene, evaluate, and document human responses to actual or potential health problems. This practice includes dependent, interdependent and independent functions. Responsible to triage all employee injures to assess the need for initial and ongoing medical treatment and coordinate the return to work processes.
Provides education to injured workers regarding workers compensation and trouble-shooting of questions and concerns relative to the prevention and control of transmission of infection.
Travel is a requirement for this position. Travel may include team, training, third party administrator, claim reviews, broker and other meetings.
Qualifications
Must have graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing. Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
Six years of nursing experience required. Experience in Employee Health/Occupational Health preferred. Must have good physical assessment skills and be a self-starter with excellent time management.
Requires current licensure as a Registered Nurse in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position. Nurses performing nursing practice over the telephone require licensure in the states where the patients being treated. Functions within the legal scope of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) preferred as soon as eligible.
Current valid driver’s license, and must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category III drivers.
