  • position will oversee the floor staff, admissions, some supervisory duties delegated by the DON. Schedule is Monday through Friday 12p-8p.

What You'll Do

This position provides care to assigned residents in a caring, safe and efficient manner and is responsible to perform the following according to location standards, procedures and individualized resident care plans

Provide direction and leadership to post-acute nursing staff. Responsible for the overall functions of the post-acute unit. Completes comprehensive nursing assessment of all residents on admission and on an ongoing basis according to state and federal regulations using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, intervention and evaluation). Responsible for the completion of post-acute comprehensive assessments on the unit. Demonstrates competence in clinical skills as identified on Competency Verification and Training Checklist. Assures assigned residents receive ordered medication, treatments and other procedures within defined time frames, utilizing appropriate infection control procedures. Demonstrates familiarity with the therapeutic effects and side effects of all medications administered. Obtains equipment / supplies to provide care as needed. Implements specific approaches to deal with behavior, enhances residents' mood state according to resident care plan. Uses EMR accurately. Assists/participates in quality improvement process, including audits and corrective procedures as assigned. Safeguards residents' property. Assists to maintain safe, pleasant, orderly resident living areas. Maintains residents' self-esteem, privacy and confidentiality of personal information adhering to HIPAA guidelines. Serves as a role model for resident's rights, reporting any concerns related to neglect and abuse immediately. Assures physician's orders are processed and physicians notified in a timely manner. Makes rounds with physicians as assigned. Responds promptly to resident call lights. Notifies family on condition changes etc. Ensures all staff on post-acute unit are notified and prepared for admissions and discharges each day. Reports / assures timely follow up of signs / symptoms of resident infections.

What You'll Need

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Prior work experience in like or related position preferred. Maintains required certification / qualifications and associated standards. RN licensure for state of practice is required.

Ability to communicate and comprehend; ability to measure and comprehend certain quantities.

Knowledge of basic nursing skills; knowledge and familiarity with the therapeutic effects and side effects of all medications administered.
