Job Responsibilities
  • This position provides wellness/recreation assistance such as class planning and implementing in a caring, safe and efficient manner and is responsible to perform the following according to location standards and procedures.
  • Assists in planning programs that are varied and well-balanced to address residents' individual physical, emotional, social, vocational and intellectual needs and interests. Leads resident wellness classes within the community. Assists with determining whether residents' needs and interests are being met through program involvement.
  • Review calendar of events and notifies residents of calendar availability and scheduled programs.Teach Balance 2 classes at 300 Monday and Wednesday afternoons and will be available, usually with advanced notice, to substitute teach other classes Monday-Friday. Candidate will be able to develop unique class of their own if there is sufficient need and intrest among Senior Living residents.

Qualifications
  • Prior work experience in teaching senior fitness classes is preferred to be hired for this job. Certification by a nationally recognized with accreditation or certification board like ACE, ACSM, or Silver Sneakers if required for this position.
  • Ability to communicate and comprehend; ability to modify and adapt exercises and programming to meet the needs of residents while safely completing class.Candidate will be part of a team of highly trained wellness instructors. Must be a team player!
