This position is responsible for initiating and maintaining extensive contacts with key clients and industry representatives, requires skill in business development and negotiation of critical issues. This position demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving complex problems, determining program objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing strategies and guidance for the development of relationships that lead to opportunities and the successful contracting of architectural/engineering projects within the Federal, Healthcare, and Higher Education Market Sectors.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do:

Oversee activities related to public relations, direct mail, tradeshows, publishing and special events and develop a qualified and applicable approach for proposal and presentation functions
Evaluate campaigns for effectiveness and implement changes and improvements to broaden our penetration of the applicable market sectors; observe impacting trends and make recommendations to enhance the firm's image on the basis of those trends
Understand and implement corporate standards in regards to marketing and proposals
Establish, implement and maintain the business development budget and business development plan
Manage internal and external communication in relation to branding, public relations and advertising; initiate customer feedback on proposals and presentations
Analyze statistics to determine service potential and monitor clientele preferences
Perform other duties as assigned or instructed

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications from an accredited college or university; Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction is a plus; Master's Degree or other advanced education is a plus
Professional expertise demonstrated through 10+ years of related Business Development experience within the Architecture, Engineering, or Construction industry; progressive experience as an Architect/Engineer is a plus
Ability to build extensive and reputable relations with clients and community members within the Minneapolis - St. Paul metro area and throughout the State of Minnesota; familiarity with the Minneapolis - St. Paul metro area is preferred
Solid business acumen with strong leadership and self-motivation skills and abilities
Ability to effectively and persuasively communicate and promote ideas and campaigns to clientele, business representatives and company personnel
Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including report writing.
Exceptional sales, marketing, customer service and decision-making skills
Demonstrates ability to promote and establish teamwork and individual leadership within business development department and develop creative and original marketing campaigns
Strong with use of Microsoft Office applications; experience with Deltek Vision CRM is a plus
Excellent time management and organization skills; ability to multi-task
