The Intern Program at Ameriprise Financial offers the opportunity to build business skills and contribute to the success of the company by delivering on projects and participation in professional seminars, social events and volunteer activities. During the program, individuals will gain exposure to a variety of corporate responsibilities in the applicable business unit.

The Ameriprise Financial Digital Solutions Internship offers the opportunity to contribute to the success of the company by delivering technology solutions that support the evolving needs of our clients, advisors, and employees.

Responsibilities

This program provides a unique opportunity to work with a cross-functional team of designers, developers, and product owners to improve and maintain our client experience on our public websites and secure web applications. In this program, you will gain direct experience in one or more of the following:

-Front-end (web) engineering in the context of large multi-team applications
-Product design, user experience/interface design, data visualization for interactive platforms
-Agile software/product development
-User experience research and strategy
-DevOps, CI/CD, Kubernetes and cloud deployment
-Development on design systems and scalable component libraries
-Digital Analytics

This program is ideal for the following kinds of candidates:
a) Studying design / user experience, and interested in the engineering process,
b) Studying engineering, and interested in the design process
c) Majoring/minoring in both disciplines

The program is 11 weeks, full-time 40 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

-0-1 years of relevant experience required
-Effective verbal and written communication skills.
-Junior year in college with a focus in Computer Science, Software Engineering, User Experience, Graphic Design, Product Design or Design Thinking
-GPA of 3.0 or above.

Preferred Qualifications

-Previous internship or work experience within Technology or Software UX/Design
-High level of self-motivation with strong integrity and ethics.
-Ability to influence and strong relationship management skills.
-Demonstrated leadership focus with ability to drive results.
-Creative, strategic, and flexible skill sets.
-Interested in gaining broad experience.
