The Retail Pharmacy Buyer is a highly self-motivated individual overseeing all areas of inventory management within the pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician fine tunes the medication and supply inventories, keeping the appropriate amounts on hand to serve our patients while limiting excess and waste. This role includes all aspects of the Pharmacy Technician's role as well as limited accounting/book-keeping duties.
  • Manages receiving/submitting daily orders, annual inventory process, front end items and pricing display, and CIM audits/maintenance. Maintains stocked shelves for cleanliness and appropriate PAR levels.
  • Assesses surroundings and anticipates the needs within the department and steps in where needed.
  • Responsible for cash management, counting tills, daily deposit and change orders.
  • Monitors Pioneer Rx Post-edits, rejected claims, reversed clams and delivery audits daily and completes or corrects any incomplete transactions.
  • Aides in the training of new staff regarding inventory management and billing processes.
  • Actively participates in/or initiates performance improvement projects within the Retail Pharmacy. Actively participates in cross-departmental committees, team and task forces working towards the completion of projects.
  • Prepares labels for medications in accordance to standard operating procedure for the Prescription Assistance Program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
  • Demonstrates understanding and follows infection control policies and procedures according to standard operating procedure.
  • Maintains requirements for age specific competencies for the position and demonstrates the knowledge or principles of growth and developments and the skills necessary to provide patient/customer care/services.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of and compliance with:
  • All pertinent safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Working safely, without causing harm or risk to self, others or property.
  • The work environment safety procedures and prompt reporting of unsafe practices, procedures, accidents, injuries or other safety violations to the Leader.
  • The use of all safety equipment and personal protective equipment.

License, Certification & Registration

Pharmacy Technician, North Dakota Board of Pharmacy, Prior to Start Date

Pharmacy Technician, Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)

  • A minimum of 1 year of related experience

  • Demonstrates ability to process complex instructions translating into logical problem-solving steps.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills. -Required
  • Demonstrates the ability to multitask and be detail oriented.
  • Demonstrates the ability to use various software programs.
