The Pharmacy Technician II is responsible for meeting the needs of internal and external Hospital customer and supporting the department by providing a variety of pharmacy clerical services including dealing with pricing and patient charges and assisting in the processing and delivering of all medication orders. This individual must be certified as a Pharmacy Technician, meet minimum experience requirements and performs in accordance with hospital standards and policies. Operates under direct supervision.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of Pharmacy Technician Program, preferred.
Two years of experience performing the above duties in a hospital pharmacy.
Pharmacy Tech certification, required.
Basic reading and math skills.
Clerical and record keeping skills.
Distribution, receiving and stocking procedures.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills and behaviors.
Follow procedures related to position accountabilities.
Inventorying and ordering procedure knowledge.
Knowledge of safety control hospital procedures.
Learns and applies analytical and participative problem solving techniques.
Basic Medical terminology understanding.
Order entry skills.
Software skills - word processing and spreadsheet skills.
Ability to maintain effective working relationship with department staff.
