The Team
Forum Communications Printing-Detroit Lakes is part of the commercial print division of Forum Communications Company. Our specific location specializes in printing newspapers, magazines, periodicals and tabloids. We are located in Detroit Lakes, MN. As our name implies, this is lake country. We have more than 400 lakes within 25 miles of Detroit Lakes in northwest Minnesota. The Role
As a Prepress Technician, you will prepare customer file for pinting. This involves preflighting, file edits, impositions, and plating. This position is 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday from 10:30am to 7:00pm. Additional duties include:
To excel in this role a minimum of 2 years of graphic arts or a commercial art degree is preferred. You must be familiar with Macintosh and PT computers, using programs such Adobe Acrobat, Photoship and Indesign. Strong organizational skills, ability to multi task and attention to detail is essential.

- Preflight customer files, troubleshooting, ripping and imposition.
- Perform quality checks and output to computer-to-plate.
- Prepare color proofs for customers and/or press.
