Robert Half Management Resources has an immediate opportunity for a skilled payroll analyst/accountant adept at configuring Union payroll and strong system skills. If you are skilled at understanding complex payroll configurations in payroll systems and identifying set-up errors through reconciliation of payroll and review of payroll calculations, please apply!

Major responsibilities

- Handle pre- and post-payroll auditing/reconciling procedures and troubleshoot anomalies by identifying changes required to configuration settings in the payroll system to process payroll correctly.

- Reconcile payroll calculations, remittances and journal entry postings to ensure accuracy.

- Partner with other areas in Finance, as well as Human Resources, Tax, IT, and other departments as necessary for reporting, compliance and strategic analysis

- Take responsibility for internal and external audits

- Oversee record keeping and control systems to provide internal safeguards

- Take the lead on ensuring all weekly, monthly, and special compensation payroll runs are set up correctly. Decipher pay policies (LOA, disability, worker's compensation, vacation, bonus, etc.) and ensure appropriate amounts/deductions are applied accurately to different earnings codes in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws

- Improve current processes by proposing, leading, and working on projects

Job Requirements:
- Certified Payroll Profession (CPP) certification preferred

- Capable of understanding complex payroll settings in payroll applications

- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- Payroll Tax Reporting experience

- Strong reconciliation skills and foundation in accounting

- HR Payroll System experience or large ERP system experience

- Union payroll experience preferred

- Strong interpersonal skills
