JOB SUMMARY

The Doors & Docks Mobile Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting door and dock related service calls and perform repairs along with scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment based on customers work order demand. Responsibility will span a wide range of commercial door and door hardware including roll up doors, also known as dock doors, dock equipment, sectional doors, WON doors and high-speed rolling or roll-up doors. The technician will promote CBRE's service and products in a professional manner while providing excellent customer service. Must be flexible on schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and HS&E work safety.
Performs assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance on overhead doors, docks, dock levelers, , cables, and/or other hardware. Including adjusting doors as necessary
Able to analyze and diagnose problems with mechanical knowledge to repair as needed. (rolling steel doors, folding, etc.).
Perform preventive maintenance inspections on equipment.
Assuring quality by checking for proper installation, clearance, and balance.
Providing excellent customer service and responding to customer questions in a truthful and pleasant manner.
Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair. Orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks. Utilizes CMMS to manage work orders and track completion.

Leads installation and modification of building doors and associated equipment systems.

Operate lifts and winches and carries springs to the tops of doors and replace worn or broken parts, like, openers and brackets.

Oversees and inspects the work performed by outside contractors.

Performs furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed.

Performs welding, carpentry, and locksmith tasks as needed.

Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.

Serve as a mentor to other technicians.

Report and communicate daily all work activity via PDA device

Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 4 years of related experience and/or trade school training.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record with periodic checks

Possess necessary skills to functionally operate a "full size" van/truck

Licensure as required by Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ)

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists. Requires intermediate analytical skills.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written communications
Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
Uses computer and / or PDA for work order system, email, and training. Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook. Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

3. Apply appropriate material handling techniques at all times,
4. Only operate warehouse equipment and machinery (e.g. pallet jacks, manlifts, etc.) if properly trained, qualified and authorized to do so
