University of North Dakota seeks Reservoir Engineer in Grand Forks, ND to be responsible for developing geophysical models of subsurface and running dynamic simulations to determine long-term prospects for produced/injected fluids, including hydrocarbons, CO2, and brine, using analytical tools and oil/gas industry simulation software.  Specific duties include: (1) developing and directing research, preparing reports and presentations, and providing technical expertise through computer modeling of geologic and petroleum systems; (2) preparing proposals through information gathering, task descriptions, and personnel and budget requirements; (3) providing project support and activities reporting for project managers, supervisors, and principal investigators; and (4) preparing research papers for publication in technical journals and for presentation at national meetings.
 
Qualified candidates must have at least  M.S. degree in Petroleum, Reservoir, Geologic Engineering or related geosciences field; two years of petroleum engineering or related research experience, including experience analyzing pressure/rate transient, monitoring field operations and generating daily reports utilizing Oil Field Manager (OFM), analyzing and interpreting geophysical well logs for geologic properties (such as fluid saturations, porosity, density, and lithology), interpreting well results, and constructing geologic models; knowledge of solvent injection for heavy oil applications, and enhanced oil recovery or unconventional resource recovery; and proficiency with Kappa Ecrin, Petrel, ECLIPSE, CMG Suite, Visual Basic or Matlab, and geoSCOUT or AccuMap.
