The person hired for this position will be responsible for supporting high priority manufacturing needs across the US and Canada, as decided by the Enterprise Operations and Business Teams management.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, focusing on machine and process reliability, through plant engineering, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most creative and diverse people around USAC and the world. You will make an impact by:
Developing, enhancing and implementing quality systems and processes of major complexity
Initiating, identifying, recommending, executing and overseeing programs to improve the following: process safety, health, and environmental impacts, product quality, customer service, capacity, and delivered cost.
Completing assignments without detailed instructions
Fostering and cultivating an extensive network of support and resources to facilitate completion of assignments
Leading cross-functional teams for new product start-ups, new process technology integration, cost reduction, and supply chain improvement using Lean Six Sigma
Willingness to work on location for extended times, at times 6+ months, to support the critical manufacturing and company needs
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Three (3) years manufacturing engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited institution
Five (5) years manufacturing engineering experience
Certified LEAN Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt
Experience with Process technologies, automation, process controls, data acquisition, plant engineering systems, and machine reliability
Effective project management skills with proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
Travel: May include up to May include up to 80% US and Canada
Location: Maplewood, MN and may consider remote U.S. work location
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (eg, H1B status).
