Work for a growing OEM in Chaska, MN that has been delivering high-end water process and service solutions for industries throughout North America for over 50 years. They manufacture systems that treat and purify water for makers of cutting-edge medicines, brand name food and beverage producers, researchers exploring the human genome, and power districts.

The Controls Engineer works with the Electrical Engineering department to automate/troubleshoot water process technologies such as: reverse osmosis (RO), demineralization (DI), ultraviolet (UV), water softeners, ion exchange, pressure filters, chemicals, ultrafiltration (UF), nanofiltration (NF), etc. This position involves travel to client sites to commission new systems, train end users and troubleshoot aftermarket issues.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform automation and control systems design, specification, simulation and start-up assistance
Attend project meetings
Implement specialized techniques and approaches to handle automation projects
Develop customized programs specific to customer needs and requirements
Program and test various pieces of automated machinery
Upgrade design of existing devices by adding automation elements
Provide automation support to departments throughout the organization
Maintain confidential operational system information
Offer suggestions to improve equipment or department performance
Assist with the creation of bills of material (BOM's) (if requested)
Travel on average 25-30%

Qualifications:

Associate's degree or higher in industrial automation or a similar field
Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required programming skills (Rockwell Software Studio 5000, RSLogix 500, FactoryTalk View ME, FactoryTalk View SE, RSLinx)
Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.).
Ability to upload and download PLC and HMI programs
Ability to troubleshoot ladder logic PLC programs
Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings
AutoCAD experience is preferred, but not required
Must live in Twin Cities area
