Establishes, implements and monitors the effective strategic direction for pharmacy operations to include retail, and specialty pharmacies. Ensures that proposed lines of business align with and effectively support the achievement of Auroras long-term strategy and patient centered focus. Collaborates with various integrating functions and clinical leadership across Aurora to ensure coordination of patient care.

Oversees the operational leadership of pharmacy operations which includes the development, implementation, and monitoring of the business strategy.

Ensures retail pharmacy is in alignment with the Department of Pharmaceutical Services and Aurora long-term strategies and integrated with Auroras clinical lines of service. Collaborates with clinical leadership throughout the system to coordinate care.

Works in collaboration with market leadership, growth and market development to identify new or enhance existing business strategies to profitably grow prescription volume.

Monitors the national retail and pharmacy environment to develop and implement new service strategies for our patients.

Drives successful financial performance by meeting and/or exceeding financial indicators and ensuring business plans and goals are obtained.

Collaborates with Auroras clinical and operational leadership to identify new initiatives to closely align new and existing services for our patients resulting in higher quality outcomes and services.

Identifies potential affiliations with existing pharmacy competition or new locations to establish appropriate coverage within Auroras geographic operating area for our patients. Proactively manages the mix of locations and assets to best meet patient needs.

Collaborates with government affairs, compliance and legal counsel to monitor the retail and pharmacy legislative and legal environment which impacts changes that are beneficial to our patients and our growth strategy.

Oversees the development and administration of policies and procedures to accomplish department-specific and organizational initiatives.

Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.

Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.

Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organizations Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organizations business.

Qualifications
License & Certifications
Pharmacist license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
Education
Masters Degree in Business or related field.
Masters Degree in Health Care Administration, or

Experience
Typically requires 10 years of experience in leading operational functions within a large regional and/or national chain retail or pharmacy organization.
Typically requires 5 years of management experience in management of staff and budgets.
Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities. Comprehensive knowledge of effective best practice in pharmaceutical operations, regulations, and guidelines.Demonstrated knowledge of the national and regional pharmacy and retail environment as well as current market conditions.An understanding of health care delivery and health care dynamics within a large integrated health care system. Strong understanding of health care dynamics and economics as it relates to the profitability. Demonstrated skills and experience in developing strategic and tactical plans to meet business objectives in a large health care or retail organization.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, which is necessary to collaborate with management/executives/other organizations.Excellent presentation, analytical, organizational, and negotiating skills.Skills and demonstrated experience in establishing excellent working relationships and strategic partnering with various teams and executives across a large organization to achieve a shared vision, values and objectives.Proven project management, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making ability
