DevOps Engineer

Job Summary:

??? Develop large and/or complex software programs, including designing, coding and testing related to infrastructure automation and application deployment.

??? Enables tool suites for infrastructure automation and application deployment.

??? Defines and creates test cases, executes test activities and reports on progress.

The DevSecOps Engineer is a force multiplier and innovation engine that enables applications to be deployed in a streamlined, secure, and consistent manner to support of the business.

Job Functions:

??? Defines, plans & designs application requirements for new or modified applications

??? Leverages existing understanding of infrastructure AND application development and deployment as well as on the job learning to support DevSecOps projects

??? Is owner of DevSecOps Git projects and is responsible for maintaining said projects

Qualifications:

??? Passion for DevOps, Agile, and Security

??? Working knowledge of Azure and Azure PaaS services

??? Working knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, and primarily DevOps development methodologies

??? Normally determines technical objectives of assignments. Exercises latitude in approach to solutioning

??? Knowledgeable in managing software code projects and conducting management of said projects

??? Experience with Automation in testing or orchestration

??? Knowledgeable in software development languages such as Golang and Ruby

??? Experience with tools such as Terraform, Git, Gitlab

??? Knowledgeable in CI/CD in relation to Gitlab, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms

??? Ability to become knowledgable on: Palo Alto, F5 Networks, RHEL, Windows, & Azure Services

??? Exposed to security checks in CI/CD pipelines

??? Understanding of virtualization and container technologies (Docker, AKS/Kubernetes, etc.)

??? Experience with REST APIs

??? Experience working with application teams and collaborating and/or coordinating application deployments

??? Ability to contribute to dev ops workflows via coding and other regular system administration activities

??? Demonstrated knowledge of PowerShell and/or other object-oriented scripting languages

??? General exposure to how key networking components operate/function, primarily firewalls and load-balancers/reverse proxies such F5 LTM/GTM or Azure native services

??? Demonstrated knowledge on the fundamentals related to SSL/TLS and certificates

??? Provide system performance optimization, maintenance and production support

??? Refine conceptual system requirements into a technical design consisting of job flows and program specifications

??? Aid in the systems development process, including planning & monitoring systems development efforts, coordinating activities within other groups, reviewing deliverables and communicating concisely and effectively to management.

??? Understand customers' business objectives and system requirements and work closely with customers to determine their strategic requirements and measure performance against expectations. Assist in customer resolutions.

??? Able to define implementation activities and assign individual responsibilities; sometimes assume leadership role for implementation activities; coordinating implementation with other parts of the enterprise and provide routine status of activities to Project Mgr. and/or direct supervisor.

??? Maintains accurate inventory for software

??? Responsible for staying abreast of new developments in software technologies and making recommendations as appropriate

??? Accountable for preventative maintenance planning, product lifecycle planning, and software update planning

??? Identifies tasks and processes requiring automation and implements the most effective solution. Develops detailed implementation, test and roll-back procedures for planned changes

??? Applies enterprise security policies and standards when performing all operational duties

??? Self-directed coordination of implementation projects, tasks, device documentation and cross training of coworkers

??? Familiar with DevSecOps integration into pipelines

??? Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned
