Agronomy Sales Representative

GLC Minerals is a highly regarded and well-respected mineral company specializing in calcium carbonate, calcium magnesium carbonate, calcium sulfate and calcium carbonate blends as a feed ingredient for the Animal Nutrition industry. GLC Minerals is seeking a motivated and experienced Agronomy Sales Representative responsible for managing existing accounts and attracting new customers throughout Wisconsin. This position will assist customers with the proper selection and use of GLC Minerals products based on specific agronomic needs. As well as maintain and develop strong customer relationships with both existing and new growers. While delivering an unrivalled customer experience and establishing yourself and GLC as a thought leader in the Wisconsin top grower community.


The Agronomy Sales Representative will be responsible for sales of GLC Minerals, calcium carbonate, gypsum and magnesium carbonate for land application to Dairy Farmers, Vegetable and row crop growers, and other outlets in Wisconsin. Duties include direct sales to growers, representing GLC as its agronomy brand ambassador, and developing industry partnerships.


What you will do


Sales

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit, with strong organizational skills, time management and problem-solving abilities who has the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. This position is responsible for proactively managing and building new relationships with Wisconsin growers to increase preference and demand for GLC Minerals products, regularly visiting growers to understand the state of operations and their specific needs and calling farmers to sell agronomy products to provide agronomy expertise. This position will develop, build, network and maintain relationships with key industry and strategic community partners while working with the VP of Sales to develop and implement annual business plans that optimize growth and profitability.


Agronomy

This position is responsible for assisting in creating agronomic recommendations and product application guidelines, providing technical advice to Farmers about GLC products and answering technical questions pertaining to agronomy products, including applications, agronomy and performance. This position is also responsible for assisting in creating agronomic recommendations and product application guidelines as well as coordinating with contract applicators and technical resources.


Marketing

This position is responsible for assisting in planning, advertising and promotion activities, communicating sales programs, incentives and purchase options and conducting presentations at Grower meetings, trade shows and sales events. A few other responsibilities include influencing the Wisconsin top grower segment, helps in developing content for regional communications highlighting various initiatives, learnings and opportunities and building product and market knowledge to add understanding and credibility.


Other

Being in this position you need to be proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) and having other industry related computer skills (Proagrica, SMS, EFC, etc.) are a plus. You must present a professional image to our customers all while having strong written and oral communication skills, being a good listener, and being highly collaborative. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire for continuous improvement, self-development, and have alignment with the company's mission and values. This position has the ability to travel approximately thirty percent of the time and approximately eighty percent of the work will be performed in a vehicle, at meetings, and in field locations with customers and others.


What you need to have

For this position, you must obtain a bachelor's degree in agronomy, animal science or other related fields and have a minimum of five years' experience in agronomy, animal science or related field. Additional requirements include having an in-depth understanding/extensive knowledge of Agronomic and Dairy business and have a demonstrated book of business, history of selling, servicing and negotiating with 2,000+ acre growers and/or 500+ head dairies.
