The role reports to the Director of Product Management, and is located in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. As a Product Marketing Manager you will build key relationships with local allies to understand the customer and channel needs in key markets. Study competitor landscape, market trends, safety and standards compliance requirements to drive strategic direction in the development of quality products, services and experiences that improve customer success. Drives market adoption of new product arming sales with the knowledge and tools they need to be successful.

Your responsibilities

Leadership and People Management: Manage and develop go to market programs and define the market position & value proposition within the context of the overall product strategy.
Supervise market assessments, competitive evaluations, input to product management requirements, identification of customer needs and perceptions, management of market adoption of products, and preparation of sales and marketing materials.
Strategy and Marketing Activity: Drive market adoption of new product arming sales with the knowledge and tools they need to be successful. Ensure value propositions and positioning of products are clearly described and communicated throughout the Lifecycle of the product. Continuously monitor competitive offerings, evaluating technologies and pricing strategies. Develop commercial programs & collateral in collaboration with sales managers, segment managers & marketing functions.
Provide timely feedback to Global Product Groups on key features, attributes, and compliance to local standards, as well as industry needs. Maintain local Product Roadmap and solicit feedback to ensure markets requirements are understood and positioned properly.
Sales Activities and customer relations: Collaboration with the sales team to inform the strategic positioning of the product to customers, partners, and influencers. Maintain a database of applications that can be run on platform products. Specify and leverage existing tools to support regional sales. Work with sales and segment managers to increase product acceptance. Utilize the market feedback they provide for product improvements and new product development.
Facilitate the sale of products through channels by developing promotional programs and providing technical support.
Identify and represent ABB at key conferences, tradeshows and industry associations.
Safety and Integrity: Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and company policies and procedures.Maintain the highest ethical standards. Ensure ABB is meeting all laws and policies related to safety.

Your background

Bachelors Degree and 8 years of experience with product management, product development, sales, marketing, channel, customer relationship.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business or Communication is preferred.
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the USA.
Open to travel about 20%
3 years experience within the variable speed drives industry. At least 3 years of experience in product development/product management.
Solid understanding of a multi-channel and segmented sales model.
