Company has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Fire Protection Commissioning Engineer with a desire to grow personally and professionally.

As an employee-owner you will work within a multi-discipline team to manage jobsite commissioning activities, client expectations, scopes of work, develop proposals and coordinate resources for your projects. You will interface with owners and facilities managers to develop and implement a commissioning process which will achieve their goals and make them successful. We are looking for highly motivated individuals with facilities, construction, or engineering backgrounds who have experience in Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression Systems.
The Senior Fire Protection Commissioning Engineer will perform the following
Lead and oversee the commissioning process for a variety of federal facilities.
Plan, schedule, and perform work for small to mid-size projects and support project teams for large projects and programs.
Participate in meetings with owner, operation and maintenance, design and construction personnel to understand project goals and schedule to ensure commissioning is properly coordinated.
Prepare commissioning plans, specifications and checklist and functional test documentation based on Company standards.
Review design, equipment submittals, operation and maintenance manual, start-up reports, checklists, and training programs.
Perform site visits to coordinate commissioning, evaluate new and existing systems, witness equipment start-up and testing.
Perform functional testing of highly technical systems. Document commissioning results and performance shorOrganizationlls.
Evaluate and troubleshoot operational issues with Fire Alarm and Fire Suppression systems.
Assist with training operation and maintenance personnel to maintain commissioned systems and perform a continuous commissioning program.
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time as projects dictate.
All other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.
Professional Engineering License (PE) in Fire Protection Engineering thorough NCEES testing required.
NICET certification in Water-Based System Layout, Fire Alarm Systems, or Special Hazards Systems (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) is preferred.
A minimum of 7 years experience, 10 preferred, with commissioning of addressable fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems (automatic sprinkler systems, fire pumps, foam, clean agent), and other Life Safety related systems commissioning.
Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
Expert knowledge of building codes, fire codes, NFPA standards, and DOS OBO codes and standards. Expert knowledge of NFPA 3 and NFPA 4 is required.
Expert experience in evaluating and troubleshooting systems with different types of stand-alone monitoring equipment including flow meters, fire pump controllers, fire alarm system monitoring and other types of equipment.
Strong facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage workplans, schedules and budgets and provide leadership to a diverse project team a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
Ability to travel up to 75% throughout the year with up to a 5 month stay on an international project.
Ability to obtain a US secret or better clearance through the Department of State is required. Currently holding a secret or better clearance is preferred..
