Make a difference!  Richland County is seeking a Communications/9-1-1 Specialist to answer all incoming calls; emergency and non-emergency calls; dispatch appropriate responders to calls and ensures responder safety. Candidates must have good communications skills, good people skills, be able to multi task, and work as a team and independently.  Extensive on the job training provided along with continuing education.

This job features a friendly shift work environment, with rotating holidays and weekends. Starting salary is $17.26/hr. plus a great benefit package.  Benefits include: Full single health, employer paid retirement and additional insurances are available.  8 hours vacation and sick per month.  Salary will increase after successful completion of probationary period to $18.81/hr. 

Candidate must be fingerprinted, participate in pre-employment testing, hearing, drug test, and also pass a criminal background check.   Anyone with a felony or Class A or B Misdemeanor will be disqualified.
