Senior Program Manager
Exlar is looking for a candidate that can bring proven experience in program management and the ability to help the organization evolve its use of more formal program management processes to ensure on-time, on-budget deliverables. In addition to managing programs directly, the candidate will be the business units subject matter expert in the value and use of program management processes, including related processes such as stage-gate NPI processes and lean. As part of the business units leadership team, the position will support and contribute in setting the strategic goals and objectives, driving business process improvement, and nurturing a high-performance work culture.
Your Challenge
Ensures program/project deliverables are in accordance with business segment and corporate objectives, including compliance with contracted functionality, schedules and profitability goals.
Defines, launches, and drives mission-critical strategic and operational initiatives in core programs. Resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.
Creates/supports a method of change management including ownership of a documentation library, communication plans, process training, etc.
Responsible for complex program management tasks and development of standards and processes for scheduling, administration, and accounting.
Defines, acquires, and allocates budget, staff, and other resources necessary to accomplish the goals and/or objectives of the program group/function.
Exercises judgment and delegated authority for planning, directing, coordinating, administering, and executing many routine and complex projects/programs.
Supports pre-sales activities by providing input and guidance on contract terms and conditions, acceptability of customer flow downs, and supporting detailed Work Breakdown Schedules.
Supports business unit reporting and submissions for both internal and external deliverables, including but not limited to: monthly program ETC and profitability metrics, Small Business Sourcing plan and reporting, program status and project mitigation plans (if required).
Working with the segment program analyst and business unit finance teams, support implementation and use of integrated program management tools as needed.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks
Your Expertise
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or equivalent, Masters Degree preferred
5-7 years of relevant experience in durable goods/product focused environment
Experience with US-Department of Defense regulated contracts and/or sub-contracts for durable goods and capital equipment (COTS/M-COTS) desirable
Successful creation of a program management office and processes
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience in driving organizational change to support an adaptive, results-oriented culture
Working expertise with MS Office (Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint)
PMP certification required
