Description

The Project Coordinator provides project coordination to grant activities of the Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility Program and other related programs. This position works with North Dakota’s 36 critical access hospitals (CAHs) and rural health clinics (RHCs), state agencies, and various healthcare entities at a local, regional, and national level.

May consider work location other than Grand Forks, North Dakota, if advantageous to the activities of the grant program.

Departmental Information

The Center for Rural Health connects resources and knowledge to strengthen the health of people in rural communities. For 40 years, we have worked with the public and private sectors expanding a circle of partners to develop creative solutions to critical health issues. The Center is located at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Grand Forks. Our approach is multi-disciplinary, as we create solutions to complex challenges. The Center for Rural Health works with communities, healthcare organizations, healthcare providers, policymakers, researchers, tribal nations, and rural health stakeholders. Additional information about the CRH can be viewed at: http://ruralhealth.und.edu/

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform program coordination activities.
  • Coordinate project specific communications and public relations activities.
  • Support special project assignments and meetings.

Required Competencies

  • Ability to connect resources, empower interested persons or organizations, and take on leadership roles.
  • Ability to accurately type, proof, edit, and format reports and manuscripts, create agendas, record minutes.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Experience participating in large and small group meetings, in person and by videoconferencing.
  • Strong computer aptitude. Ability to troubleshoot IT issues.
  • Skills and ability using the internet and search engines.
  • Experience, skills, ability in organizing and tracking programmatic activities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to be self-directed.
  • High level of attention-to-detail and the ability to generate timely work products.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, take initiative, and to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Must be able to travel to national, regional, or local events/meetings.
  • Knowledge of rural health, hospital, and clinic dynamics in the state of North Dakota.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor degree with a major in education/teaching, communications, healthcare administration, health-related field, or similar
  • One-year experience working in project coordination or program development.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Experience using videoconferencing platforms such as Zoom, WebEx (or similar)
  • Successful completion of criminal history records check.

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification

$38,000/year (salary is negotiable based on qualifications and experience). Full-time, Benefited, Exempt. This position is grant-funded.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Requires occasional work outside of standard hours due to business travel or events.

Benefits
