The Director Global Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) will be responsible for the development, implementation and communication of the EHSS function at Generac. This position will develop the strategy and provide leadership through the management of Generac's Global EHSS programs, policies and procedures to improve safety and sustainability performance. This position is also responsible for coordinating and leading the EHSS function to meet or exceed company business objectives, working closely with cross-functional teams at all of the Generac facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee all EHSS programs toensure compliance with applicable regulatory agencies on a continuous basisand revise as appropriate
Develop multi-year strategic EHSS programs for the organization that can be communicated enterprise wide
Develop and deliver EHSS plansand procedures for maintaining high standards to ensure that all functionsconform to local and federal laws
Lead the tracking and assessmentof global EHSS requirements and metrics; advise business leaders aboCompanyompany impacts
Select, coach and develop the EHSSteam, setting objectives that align with company strategy to inspire andmotivate
Design anddirect processes by which team and individual performance are recognized,feedback is consistently delivered and performance is systematicallyimproved
Develop and administer companysafety incentive programs, including the evaluation of the effectivenessof such programs in positively changing employee behavior
Champion the global safetytraining programs and assess for effectiveness
Oversee the corporate wide accident and incidentinvestigation process
Oversee the preparation andsubmittal of related agency regulatory reports;
Research, develop and implementnew policies, practices, procedures, or guidelines;
Develop and oversee the sitereview and audit programs;
Represent the company bothinternally and externally, as the subject matter expert in all EHS issues;
Organize and provide leadershipto safety teams throughout the organization
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Demands
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
10 years of progressive experience with environment and safety responsibilities
5 years in a environmental and/or safety leadership role
Experience with Institute permitting of major and minor sources and other environmental permits
Ability to travel both domestic and internationally 15 - 25% of the time.
Implementation experience with ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 programs
Solid understanding of safety and wastemanagement related regulations and industry standards globally
Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
Proficient in various risk assessment and root cause analysis methods
Demonstrated effective interaction and influence with regulatory agencies and senior business leaders
