The Executive Director Human Resources, Global and North America Commercial Sales at Johnson Controls drives human capital, talent strategy and execution aligned to strategic business objectives for Chief Commercial Officer and VP Commercial for North America, JCI's largest commercial business. You will be responsible for the strategic human resource planning and organizational development to lead our commercial business with the best talent available and to position the organization as the leading solution provider driving world class customer and employee experience. You will drive strategic change in talent as the JCI commercial organization evolves from product-centric to digital, services and solution mindset ensuring that strategic talent systems are developed including competency and skill models to evolve commercial talent over next 2-5 years. You will report jointly to the VP HR for North America and the CHRO for global commercial and is accountable to develop integrated talent solutions across the HR function to deliver value-added service to senior leadership.

How you will do it

You will Partner with the Chief Commercial Officer and VP Commercial North America to drive all talent aspects of Global and North America commercial strategic and operational plans and teams with CHRO, VP HR North America and other regional commercial HR leaders to drive talent strategies and plans.
You will develop human resource planning models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develop specific programs to fill the identified gaps. Particular emphasis is on changing long-term skill profile of Johnson Controls Commercial team to focus on solution, digital & service sales from more product oriented sales skills.
You will create an experience-based talent culture across global and North America commercial organization leveraging persona-based approach to all aspects of talent development, attraction and motivation, improving organizational health and driving high performance culture.
You will create end to end global talent model including attraction, retention and performance and development from university hires, sales managers, strategic account leaders and senior sales leaders, leveraging persona-based career pathing and competency based models for key commercial roles.
You will lead sales incentive design partnering with total rewards team and business leaders, to ensure that incentive design drives business objectives and effectively incents high performance culture and ales force productivity.
You will drive diversity and inclusion strategies to embrace applicants and employees of all backgrounds and to permit the full development and high performance of all employees.
You will continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the market with focus on other industrial companies as well as high tech companies focused on digital, solutions and services.

What we look for

Bachelors degree required
Overall experience of 15+ years with several years in HR.
Knowledge of commercial field operations and go-to-market strategies required with preferred emphasis around solution/digital sales
Understands impact of talent strategies on customer-facing teams leveraging data-driven insights
Experience in sales incentive design preferred, ensuring incentive design is aligned to talent strategy and drives effective business outcomes
Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate across global matrixed organization to optimize outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to be an effective leader in a fast paced, pressure environment.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate plans into phased actions.
Extensive understanding and responsibility in project and program management principles, with explicit experience in applying to deploy complex talent strategies and programs across global organization.
