We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Systems Test Engineering Manager 2(Engineering Mgr. 2) to join our Missile Products team in Plymouth, MN. This position reports directly to the Director of Engineering for the Missile Products, Fuze and Warheads business area.

Job Summary:

As an Engineering Manager in the Fuze & Warheads Development Group, you will be responsible for the systems test and evaluation function and may also function as a technical lead, technical contributor, or technical consultant on various projects. You will be responsible for growing and managing an engineering team, processes, and tools as well as directing and/or working with other engineers, technicians, functional managers, program managers and administrative personnel to accomplish your objectives.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Lead a team that performs technical planning, system integration, and test & evaluation in addition to failure analysis, build and production support of components and assemblies of defense-related products.

Ensure the right people, processes, and tools are in place to meet the business needs

Oversee the supervision of day-to-day engineering activity and work products, expense management, workload management, and performance management process.

Identify, manage and grow the critical skills development process for the test & evaluation team.

Identify and/or lead continuous improvement activities within the department.

Function as a key contributor on DoD development programs, managing assigned responsibilities and directing the work of other supervisors, engineers, technicians and administrative personnel to accomplish program goals.

Manage cost and schedule for assigned projects.

Prepare, review, and approve cost estimates and written or oral technical proposals.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

BS degree in Engineering is required, preferably Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or Physics

Minimum of 9 years of experience with a BS or 7 years with a MS or 4 years with a PhD- of directly related test experience, defense or aerospace experience strongly preferred

2+ years of project, program, or people leadership experience.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).

Familiar with Root Cause Analysis, Fault Trees and Design of Experiments.

Strong leadership, influence, and project management skills.

Ability to network and negotiate at all levels within an organization to accomplish objectives.

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

Occasional travel (

Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite.
