Summary:Our customer is a fabricator and a construction steel specialist. They design, furnish and upstand steel frame, steel joist and steel decking. They have done projects from coast to coast in over 32 states. As a Fitter, you'll lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts of metal according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, and sketches in preparation for welding. Employee must fully understand shop drawings including weld symbols, erection marks, competently putting all information on member as it is laid out. Experience in stairs and handrails is a plus. Job Title: Fitter/Layout Mig Welder

Job Type: Temp to Hire

Location: Maple Plain, MN

Career Level: Experienced

Shift: 1st - 6am-4pm

Salary: $19/hr + DOQ

Description:

• Ability to MIG

• Set up MIG

• Interpret fabrication drawings for layout, fitting, assembly and welding of structural assemblies.

• Measure and mark location and identification of holes, copes, hardware, and welds.

• Fit parts and assemblies to the appropriate location within specified tolerances

• Read and understand part drawing

• Inspect parts (tools: caliper, tape measure, etc.)

• Operate forklift, crane and other material handling operations as required

• Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in an environment with moderate to high noise level

• Ability to regularly walk, stand, bend, reach, and use hands to handle product, tools, or controls

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
