The Product Service Specialist for the Geith Excavator Attachments product line provides technical and service support to Company personnel including the Service, Engineering, Manufacturing and Product Safety Departments, and to Dealership personnel including service technicians, service managers, and the parts department.

Role & Responsibility

Technical Resource
  • Have a good working knowledge of supported product lines.
  • Troubleshoot field service issues received from Dealers.
  • Be a technical resource to assist the Company’s Customer Service, Sales, and Service Troubleshooters departments with resolving field service issues.
  • Provide technical assistance to Dealer personnel, Regional and District Service Managers and the Product Development Group.

Service Support
  • Administer Field Modification process for assigned products.
  • Some travel may be required during the year to visit dealers/customers, manufacturing sites, and assist in service training.
  • Assist in determining parts stocking levels and offering for new and existing products.
  • Administer warranty claims from Dealers.

Communication of Product Concerns
  • Participate in Product Quality Team meetings to provide information regarding field service experience such as service troubleshooting cases, warranty data and feedback from field service staff.
  • Retrieve and summarize warranty and service parts sales data to assist in determining root cause and corrective actions for field failures.

New Product Development
  • Assist in performing serviceability evaluations on new or competitive equipment.

Product Update Training
  • Assist in training field service personnel on new and existing products as needed.


Job Requirement

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related field. Associate’s Degree and equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience in product support field.
  • Solid mechanical skillset and equipment troubleshooting experience.
  • Construction equipment experience.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent cross-functional teamwork skills.
  • Effective time management and priority focus skills.
  • Strong analytical aptitude.
  • MS Office Suite proficiency.
  • Travel Required: 10-25%.

What skills, education, and experiences does your ideal candidate(s) have?

•Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
•These are entry level opportunities
•Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements. Must possess the ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
•The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
•Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training. General instructions are given on recurring duties, operations and assignments; detailed instructions are given on new duties, operations and assignments.
