Job Description Summary:

The Salesforce.com Product Manager (PM) role is responsible for consulting across a broad range of stakeholders to develop the product roadmap and guide strategy and execution to maximize business value and performance via connected applications on the Salesforce.com (SFDC) platform. The PM represents business priorities and manages activities of the SFDC Scrum team and third party consultants to implement solutions that enable exceptional service delivery, increased operational efficiency and enhanced customer engagement. The PM will lead the platform portfolio, product, release, and sprint planning activities and reviews the teams feature completeness and acceptance testing. Through these activities the PM is responsible for managing development tasks and controls planning and execution of the tasks and resources of their assigned Scrum team to ensure that business goals are met. A focus on establishing and maintaining performance metrics for the project objective and measuring against said metrics is critical, as is being able to bring together a diverse stakeholder group, drive consensus and create joint understanding between the user groups.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Builds and continuously refines the SFDC platform roadmap in close collaboration with senior management, internal and external business users and the development team to translate short and long-term business needs into scalable solutions. Responsible for gathering, understanding and defining both the functional and non-functional requirements that are necessary to deliver new and/or enhanced features in the platform. Proactively identify and develop business cases for roadmap investments that support strategy and drive business results through platform utilization. Develops a platform vision that aligns with sales, marketing and business strategy, communicating the vision to the scrum team and leading tactical efforts to align projects and efforts to that vision.
  • Manages and prioritizes the SFDC backlog by engaging business leaders, stakeholders, agile team and IT partners to ensure content and priority alignment. Communicates needs of business stakeholders directly to scrum team members and delegates tasks to ensure understanding and timely completion of business priorities. Actively contributes and participates in all project ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily standups, and retrospective meetings. Reviews work completed by members of the scrum team to ensure quality and completeness.
  • Engage with business leaders to ensure they have the features and tools needed to drive business. Leads the effort to identify and promote best practices on the Salesforce platform. Identifies, develops and delivers Salesforce training for internal and external employees to drive adoption and nurture use. Serves as the subject matter expert and go-to person for all matters relating to the Salesforce platform.
  • Identify new Salesforce platform features and capabilities that support the roadmap and work with the various stakeholders to identify if/ when they should be introduced. Stays current on technological advances relevant to supporting efficient business processes and makes recommendations that drive organizational growth and innovation.
