Welder - 2nd Shift Welder/Fabricator
JOB SUMMARY:
To layout, fit, align, weld, and fabricate structural and cosmetic motorcycle components and weldments
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
??? Thoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategy
??? Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions
??? Present and maintain positive morale amongst employees
??? Work from drawings, blueprints, bills of material and specifications to layout and plan work
??? Ability to select appropriate materials if not specified
??? Layout materials and fit and align pieces parts and components to make up complete assembly
??? Fit up and tack weld as necessary using care and judgment to compensate for shrink and distortion
??? Regularly check work to ensure compliance to specification and make necessary adjustments or corrections
QUALIFICATIONS:
??? Experienced working as a welder/fabricator or equivalent
??? Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards
??? High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
??? Well organized and self-directed
??? Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion
??? Excellent verbal and written communication skills; working knowledge of computer applications
??? Broad knowledge of fitting and fabricating welding procedures
??? Welding procedures including MIG and TIG for mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
??? Work performed under minimal supervision and subject to rigid quality and customer requirements and specifications
??? Minimum of 3 years experience preferred in related field
PHYSICAL AND PPE REQUIREMENTS:
Employee is regularly required to:
??? Stand
??? Use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls
??? Talk and hear
??? Walk, stoop, crouch and bend
??? Reach above shoulders
??? Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance
??? Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
??? Must comply with safety equipment standards; safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed shoes
Assemble and weld metal parts on production line, using welding equipment,
requiring only a limited knowledge of welding techniques.
