We're looking for a full time Field Technician to plan, install, and maintain our interstate logos signs - the ones that tell you when to exit for food, gas, etc. Our McFarland, WI Interstate Logos office is now hiring a new Field Technician to help us enhance the Interstate Logo Program in the state of Wisconsin.Company Overview:The Interstate Logos division of Lamar Advertising is the largest provider of contract logo signing and tourist-oriented directional signing (TODS) programs, partnering with State Transportation Agencies since 1988. We provided performance-based wage increases.Position Purpose:The purpose of the Field Technician position is to complete the necessary field operations tasks, such as taking measurements and drawing site plans for interstate sign placement, related to the Interstate Logo signing and TODS (Tourist-oriented directional signing) programsEssential Functions and Responsibilities:Taking measurements and drawing of site plans for sign placement along controlled and non-controlled access roadways.Drawing as built plans (plans to ensure correct location and specifications of logo signs)Update and complete all sign inspections annuallyDevelopment of new site plans and drawing of site plansMinor sign repair and sign maintenanceOccasional installation and removal of signsVegetation control (site clearing) related to the ground mounted signs including removal of trees, brush, weeds, etc.Attend safety meetings monthlyOrganization and cleaning of warehouse space and supply yard areaTravel 90% by vehicle. Overnight travel required.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Ability to work independently along side of highway.Must be detailed oriented and flexible.Good verbal and written skills.Excellent organizational skills.Familiar with the use and maintenance of power/manual tools, basic construction equipment and machinery.Must be able to lift a minimum of 100 lbs.Drafting skillsKnowledge of vehicle distance measuring instrumentsEducation and Experience Requirements:High School Diploma or EquivalentValid driver's license requiredDrafting experience and knowledge of Distance Measuring Instrument is a plusPhysical Demands and Work Environment:The primary work environment is outdoors.The specific physical demands/requirements of the job include: lifting greater than 50% of the time, pushing, reaching, seeing (reading, color distinction, acuity, depth perception, peripheral vision), sitting less than 50% of the time, standing, stooping, talking, turning, walking, and climbing up to 30 feet high.The typical percentage of time spent traveling and spending nights away from home is greater than 50% including multiple overnights per week.Lamar is an EOE/AA: Minorities/Females/Disabled/Protected Veterans or any other State or Federally protected characteristicDisability Self-Identification:When applying for a job with Lamar, you will be asked to voluntarily self-identify whether you have a disability.
