The purpose of your role as an CAD OperatorAs a CAD Operator, you will operate all computer aided design (CAD) system and peripheral equipment. Exercises considerable skill in the use of graphics commands and preprogrammed material to develop drawings for equipment, sheet metal, and piping.Create quick actions utilizing the command language of the system to assist in drawing creation.Specify and purchase materials for projectsPerform routine to complex assignments requiring a thorough knowledge of computer aided drafting system standards, practices and techniques.Develop increased proficiency in system operation with a resulting increase in productivity, and learns how to use all software optionsAnalyze sketches, notes, and other input material to determine best approach to complete drawingsApply judgment and makes decisions with respect to drawings and input interpretationReview work performed to determine accuracy with input from supervisorWhat we're looking for in you2 years of CAD related experience or currently enrolled in CAD related training program2 years of experience working with SolidworksStrong organizational skills and problem-solving skillsProven math, accuracy and detail-orientation skillsProven verbal and written communication skillsYour life at HarrisAs one of the country's leading mechanical contractors, Harris offers you the best of both worlds: the stability, resources and opportunities of a national company, and the team culture, creative spirit and customer loyalty of a local business.
