Job DescriptionJob Description:The Director, Financial Services is responsible for providing leadership and management of Daikin Applied's Financial Services function including overseeing the operation of current financial services which is comprised of accounts payable, billing and tax, credit and collections and cash management. This role is also responsible for elevating the financial services function, developing, building and driving the future-state.Required Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or closely related field required8- 10+ years of demonstrated success in a high volume financial services departmentProficient with various software and ERP systems Thorough knowledge of state and province mechanic lien and bonding laws.Ability to set standards, measure results and coach teams to high performanceSelf-motivated, organized and effectively achieves team goalsExcellent team player who works well in a collaborative environmentAbility to work effectively with external partners as well as internal employeesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to demonstrate independent, objective, open-minded thinking with strong attention to detail and sound judgmentAn energetic and positive approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting issuesStrong knowledge of regulatory requirements relative to commercial transactions and internal controlsAdvanced Excel skills and proficient in Microsoft Office SuiteResponsibilities:Strategy & Leadership Establishes the overall financial services strategy for A/R (Credit), A/P and Billing and Tax.Builds out the financial service functionality and financial services team, including assessment and coaching of the current financial services team and developing and standardizing policies and processesLead technology initiatives and automation in partnership with IT as it relates to credit and collections, accounts payable and billing and sales and use taxProvides vision, leadership, planning and project coordination for the design and development of cost-effective programs and services while concurrently facilitating efficient operations to support current and future business needs. Including iReceivables, A/P EDI, OCR technology, iSupplier, electronic billings and adjustments.Fosters the culture of continuous improvement of services, seeking proactive approaches to solve business needs/problems, while also enhancing the understanding and acceptance of the financial services supportive capabilitiesPartner with Treasury on cash management, banking relationships and working capital managementPartners with senior financial management to expand financial services capabilities as appropriateCredit & Collections OperationsOversee the entire credit and collection processes for Daikin Applied mitigating unreasonable risks associated with trade receivables and at the same time not hindering sales ensuring compliance with all credit policiesPartner with sales and operations teams to optimize relationships with sales offices and customersEnsure accuracy in financial reporting by establishing procedures and controls for reconciling with auditors and accounting departments.Ensure all cash applications to customer accounts is timely and accurateAccounts Payable Operations Ensure vendor payments and employee reimbursements are issued in a timely, efficient manner in accordance with internal and external policies and proceduresPartner with IT Finance team to optimize A/P processes within Oracle and Astea.Billing and Sales Tax OperationsEnsure invoicing and adjustments to customers is accurate and timely.All sales tax charges are accurate and exemptions certificates are current and up to datePartner with IT leveraging new A/P technology including EDI, OCR and vendor portalsDaikin Applied is interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States.
