When you join our team your main responsibilities will include:

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate sales activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards;
  • Identify compliance issues related to international sales in the pork industry that require follow-up or investigation;
  • Act as a subject matter expert on international trade (Asia) compliance issues, identifying risks and mitigation measures relating to foreign customs regulations;
  • Promote foreign sales opportunities and identify new opportunities through ensuring impeccable compliance to maintain and expand current relationships and business partnerships;
  • Review customer complaints with OSR and operations;
  • Direct, coordinate, and review activities in sales, budgeting, record-keeping, and in receiving and shipping operation;
  • Advise to improve on business, planning, service and/or operational matters and analyze financial reports;
  • Develop risk management strategies based on assessment of productions of product, operational risks, and Asian market access;
  • Review sales, marketing, & customer service agreements and activities to the Asian marketplace;
  • Review sales contracts and negotiation strategies as needed and represent the organization in external relations;
  • Ensure importing compliance, compliance with pricing, and explore option for factory gate pricing;
  • Increase market share and drive top line revenue by
  • Maintaining and expanding current relationships;
  • Developing and expanding new relationships
  • Identifying new production opportunities;
  • Monitoring customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts; and
  • Other duties as requested.

You will be required to have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Legal Studies; or Business Administration (with a focus on law and risk management)
  • knowledge of laws and government regulations
  • experience with contract review and communicating with governmental agencies
  • Knowledge with directly relevant industry experience
  • Knowledge of Japanese tariff compliance and fluency in the Japanese language.
  • May be required to work long hours and weekends.
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
