The Role

Wells Fargo's Merchant Services organization is nationally recognized for its ingenuity and reputation as a leader in the electronic payments industry. We are searching for a Product Marketing & Engagement Initiatives Leader.

This senior role on the Digital & Acquisition Enablement team will lead a team to drive business initiatives with a focus on product marketing & engagement. The role's responsibilities will include developing effective product value propositions and customer-facing product materials, as well as overseeing customer communications activities. The leader will be responsible for modernizing/digitizing paper-based approaches for customer interaction where possible. The leader will also be responsible for aligning the Digital & Acquisition Enablement team's approach with other Wells Fargo Centers of Excellence, including business process management and the adoption of enterprise-wide tools/systems for document retention.

The ideal candidate will have experience successfully driving complex business initiatives in a marketing and communications environment, preferably in the financial services and/or payment industry. The ideal candidate will also possess strong strategic leadership capabilities; outstanding written communication skills; exceptional attention to detail; and a flexible, team-oriented approach. Experience with a business target audience (from small business to corporate) is preferable.

San Francisco and Concord, CA are the preferred locations, though other locations including Charlotte, Minneapolis, and Phoenix will be considered. The position includes a 10-20% travel requirement in a typical (non-Covid) environment.

Key areas of work include:

  • Developing and communicating effective value propositions at the Merchant Services category level and product-specific levels
  • Creating compelling customer-facing product materials in collaboration with the Digital Marketing leader and the Channel & Partner Enablement leader
  • Modernizing/digitizing current paper-based approaches for customer interaction with the goal of an end-to-end digital interaction experience
  • Managing customer communications activities in compliance with required payment network changes, equipment software updates, pricing changes, product changes, etc.
  • Enabling customer experience strategy, including defining and executing the approach for communicating with priority customer segments
  • Developing and leading initiatives to enable product management strategy, such as programs to enhance product activation and/or feature usage
  • Leading initiatives that align the Digital & Acquisition Enablement team's approach with other Wells Fargo Centers of Excellence, including business process management and the adoption of enterprise-wide tools, systems, and processes for document retention


Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning
  • 5+ years of management experience



Other Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated success in product marketing and/or communications program development and execution
  • 2-3 years' experience developing strategy, priorities, roadmaps, business cases for a product, service, or marketing channel
  • Ability to translate business and customer needs into tangible recommendations. Uses analysis to identify and define business requirements, while supporting the validity of the final product
  • Experience developing and refining effective product value propositions
  • Process design or improvement experience
  • Ability to identify risk factors and ensure enactment of appropriate controls
  • Project leadership experience with completed deliverables under deadlines
  • Ability to influence, partner, and negotiate with senior business leaders to gain commitment to accomplish business goals
  • Ability to influence and collaborate at all internal organizational levels
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-starter and highly motivated for success
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
  • Experience communicating to small, medium and/or large businesses
  • Experience in the payments industry
  • Experience transforming paper-based communication approaches to digital-based communication approaches
  • Experience presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders of multiple levels, including executive sponsors
  • Comfort with shifting priorities, and an intuitive sense of relative perspective
  • MBA or other Master's degree

Location: San Francisco, CA (preferred); Concord, CA (preferred); Charlotte, NC; Minneapolis, MN; Phoenix, AZ may also be considered
