Description: IT Quality Defect Lead

Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of IT Quality Defect Lead will directly manage the Testing Defect Process in support of our strategic IT application portfolio and as part of our Technology Transformation and Services (TTS) program. This includes responsibility for defining, communicating, and enforcing the Testing Defect Strategy and Approach, as well as directly planning defect support needs and activities during project testing cycles and executing against that plan. This position requires knowledge and experience applying testing and defect management best practices along with awareness of Computer System Validation requirements and activities. The role requires the ability to work with cross-functional teams from different businesses and countries. The ability of this person to structure and organize the defect process and associated activities as well as communicate with key stakeholders will help ensure success in the IT Quality Services organization.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Manage the end-to-end defect process for project defects associated to system releases for strategic IT applications and the BT program
* Drive defect resolution and disposition to meet critical project deadlines and exit criteria
* Establish and maintain the defect strategy and associated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), job aids and processes, and ensure adherence to each
* Provide clear and timely communications regarding the defect process across various levels of the organization
* Create and deliver detailed metrics and dashboards to IT and Business leaders regarding defect resolution during critical project testing phases
* Advise program and systems leadership on risks, issues, and plans of action related to the defect process and status
* Facilitate cross-functional defect triage and analysis sessions
* Ensure defect documentation quality standards and best practices are upheld
* Establish continuous improvement activities related to the defect process to drive operational efficiencies and improve project outcomes

Basic Qualifications:
* 2 year degree or higher from an accredited university or trade school
* Minimum 4 years of Software Quality Assurance (SQA), Testing, and/or Validation experience

Preferred Qualifications:
* 3 years of experience creating & managing a Quality and/or Test Plan
* 2 years of experience managing a defect process or leading defect triage or resolution activities
* 2 years of combined experience work with a global implementation project and/or SAP
* 3 years of experience working with Quality Test Tools - HP Quality Center (ALM), Jira, ReqPro, ClearQuest, ClearCase, RQM
* Exceptional organizational and communication skills, proven track record of strong project coordination/management success
* Experience working in a regulated environment (SOX, FDA, etc) subject to compliance controls
* Health Care Audit experience
* PMP certification or working towards
* Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs
* Strong skills in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Minimal work direction needed, highly skilled and knowledgeable to the position and provides best practicing sharing within work group. Responsible for the core activities of the test effort, which involves conducting the necessary tests and logging the outcomes of that testing. Identify the Target Test Items to be evaluated by the test effort. Define the appropriate tests required and any associated Test Data. Gather and manage the Test Data. Evaluate and log the outcome of each test cycle. Identify the most appropriate implementation approach for a given test. Set up and execute the tests. Analyze and recover from execution errors.
