Job Responsibilities

-Manages and applies resources to general clinical operations, guided by experience, organizational goals and operational strategies. Also responsible for the management of cyclical projects.

-Works on complex clinical matters where analysis of issues, data and process require advanced specialist knowledge and in-depth industry and technical knowledge.

-Sets the overall direction, strategy development and operational achievement of the plan for the delivery of quality, efficient and cost effective nursing care within the Good Samaritan Society.

-Serves as a primary spokesperson for nursing and clinical services within the Good Samaritan Society field footprint.

-Participates and plays a lead role in planning, leading, organizing, implementing and evaluating the various clinical operating functions and processes essential for organizational success.

-Develops, maintains and upgrades nursing services objectives, standards for nursing practice, nursing procedure manuals; promotes a practice environment that provides safe, reliable, resident-centered care.

-Provides consultation, resources and mentoring for the field facility and agency leadership. Develops and fosters effective collaboration between Good Samaritan Society service lines and Sanford Health to ensure delivery of nursing and clinical services is integrated across the continuum of care and consistent with the organizations overall goals and objectives.

-Ensures efficient and economical performance in accordance with established operating budgets, goals and objectives.

-Possesses a thorough knowledge of health care operations, post-acute services, management principles and ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.

-Establishes policies and procedures for the facility and maintain effective communications with senior administration, field staff and the community.

Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Master's degree in nursing preferred. Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).

-Minimum five years of experience in a health care leadership position with progressively increasing responsibilities required.

-Minimum of five years progressive management or leadership experience.

-Experience in diverse settings or across the continuum of care and in rural areas (i.e. hospital, long-term care, home care, community) desired.

-Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.

-Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
