Provides support to the Manufacturing organization in the Metal Stamping department to facilitate efficient operations within the production area, to optimize existing processes, and to ensure that production goals are met. Monitors performance of equipment, machines and tools and corrects equipment problems or process parameters that produce non-conforming products, low yields or product quality issues. Interfaces with Quality and Research and Development organizations to integrate new products or processes into the existing manufacturing area.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

Owns process for progressive dies producing stamped medical components. Ensures tools are physically and electronically maintained, run properly, and spare materials are stocked as needed.

Initiates and completes technical activities leading to new or improved products or process, for current programs, next generation programs and to meet strategic goals and objectives of the company. Prepares reports, publishes, and makes presentations to communicate findings.

Understands engineering principles and practices. Continues to develop knowledge of metal stamping to become a recognized technology leader in the company.

Analyzes and solves problems from basic engineering principles through a wide range of complex problems which require innovative approaches or a breakthrough in technology.

Cultivates internal and external network of resources to complete tasks. Serves as a resource in the selection, orientation, and training of new engineers in the area. Will lead a project teams, determining goals and objectives for the projects. Mentors employees by sharing technical expertise and providing feedback and guidance.

Develops relationships with R&D, global sourcing, and supplier engineering to pursue new development projects as well as seek cost improvements on existing products. Works cooperatively with Process Development, Quality, Production, and Regulatory in addition to the other functions on complex projects to ensure success

Successfully completes complex engineering work and contributes to new product development teams and product support, typically including the following activities: technology development, test of materials or products, preparation of specifications, Six Sigma, process study, process improvements, and report preparation.

Selects process improvement techniques to solve complex problems and make sound equipment and process recommendations.

Coordinates, manages, and documents project goals and progress and recommends appropriate revisions.

Interacts cross functionally and with internal and external customers. Serves as a consultant for engineering or scientific interpretations and advice on significant matters. Acts as a spokesperson to internal teams on business unit current and future capabilities.

Incorporates business policies and procedures into task completion. Understands the business needs of the company and has knowledge of the customer needs of our business. Understands the business cycle and foresight of emerging technologies trends.

Leads and communicates effectively on cross-functional project teams.

What We're Looking For In You:

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline

10+ years of related manufacturing experience

5+ years of mechanical design experience with metal products

In-depth knowledge of metal stamping

Experience solving advanced technical problems

Experience completing validation activities including IQ/OQ/PQ, process characterization

Experience using CAD Software (Solidworks preferred), Minitab, and proficiency with MS Office

Project Management experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with design of new metal stamping products in Solidworks

Direct or indirect people leadership experience managing projects preferred
