Leads the pricing discipline for all product lines within Johnson Controls $11B Global Products business across Controls, Security, Fire, Applied Systems, Air Distribution, JCH, I/R, and is accountable to achieve annual pricing plan. Focuses on maximizing total variable margins and shifting the business to value based philosophy in pricing. Acts as a strategic partner in supporting the President Global Products, VP/GM Product business units, VP Commercial by strategically managing price to optimize sales revenues and profits. Develop, evaluate and implement pricing strategies and models based upon current business and competitive market dynamics.

How you will do it

Develop, execute and lead a pricing strategy for Global Products that ensures full end to end price is achieved by business unit leading to strong gross margin performance across the business from sales to operations.
Strategically shift from cost plus' pricing to value-based pricing
Acts as a senior decision maker for pricing on new product introduction and coaches the team toward full product lifecycle profitability
Collaborates with peer set in direct channel to optimize enterprise profitability gains
Understanding commercial models, leverages data and analytics to gain price and margin in varied markets and domains globally.
Accountable to achieve the annual pricing (and associated margin) plan.
Determine pricing resource allocation
Define and drive best practice tools and approaches in pricing process and execution
Lead executive product business unit pricing leaders across global products and their teams.
Drive value capture by implementing price strategy and managing product margin execution. Set additional pricing targets, as required
Lead development of long-term pricing strategy for complex products, including refining the price approval process etc., working with sales, marketing product management and finance
Lead pricing discipline through centralized cadence and function including building talent and expanding pricing capability across the business.
Develop internal and external communications related to pricing (eg, price change communications)

What we look for

University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
10-15 Years suggested minimum experience. MBA or another advanced degree preferred
World class product pricing function leadership including driving improvement gross margin performance
Strong organization-building skills, including talent attraction and establishing links across firm's Business Units and regions
Executive leadership experience leveraging collaborative influence to achieve pricing objectives across business units.
Strategic ability to develop high-impact pricing strategies leveraging experience in commercial models to drive business and achieve margin leadership for company
Change management leadership
Strong negotiating skills based on a thorough understanding of sales/marketing practices
Analytic ability to understand and define critical issues (benefit/value map, pre-approved discount level, deal waterfall, volume impact)
