DescriptionThis position oversees Logistics operations and fiscal activities at a fluid dairy plant, including planning and developing systems and procedures to improve the operation quality and efficiency of the department. Duties & Responsibilities:Manages the Logistics operations and associated fiscal activities for the business unit and any affiliated branches. Reviews and assesses the P on a period basis. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations regarding transportation and workplace safety, including but not limited to monitoring Driver Qualification Files and Hours of Service.Plans and develops systems, processes, and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency within the Logistics Function and across the business unit.Analyzes and documents business processes to identify and lead initiatives that provide continuous improvement for safety, service, capacity, and cost.Directs staff in development, analysis, and preparation of reports and execution of distribution activities, including developing and assigning routes and managing contract carriers.Coaches direct reports to effectively manage their performance, providing on-going performance feedback. Accountable for Fleet Maintenance, ensuring DOT regulations are met. Inspects and schedules fleet maintenance to ensure preventative maintenance/repairs are done in a timely and efficient manner.Communicates with Supervisors, Mangers, and Vice Presidents on Logistics operations.Approves expense reports and policy department expenditures.Handles escalated customer inquiries/concerns regarding route deliveries.Other Duties as assigned.RequirementsEducation & Experience: Completion of a Bachelors-Degree in Logistics/Distribution or similar concentration, plus 5 years of experience in the Logistics/Transportation/Distribution field At least 3 years of supervisory experience in Logistics/Distribution/Transportation Or 10 years of experience in the Logistics/Transportation/Distribution field with at least 5 years of supervisory experienceNecessary Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Champions Kemps Culture of Excellence: Operating at the highest levels of integrity and accountability every day by establish trust at all levels, setting clear direction, and driving continuous improvement.
