JOB GOAL: To provide safe and quality care of students as assigned REPORTS TO: School Age Care Coordinator

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Supervise and assist students to provide a safe school age care environment.
2. Demonstrate sensitivity to the individual needs of students.
3. Maintain a safe learning environment, providing recreational activities, homework completion, quiet areas, indoor and outdoor play and free choice activities.
4. Follow and complete lesson plans.
5. Take direction from the Lead Caregiver and/or School Age Care Coordinator.
6. Serve as the Lead Caregiver as needed and determined by the School Age Care Coordinator.
7. Maintain sanitary food service areas and equipment (including the refrigerator, microwave, serving carts.)
8. Purchase food as directed by Lead Caregiver.
9. Prepare and serve food in a safe and sanitary manner, with attention to child allergy needs.
10. Maintain SAC office and learning environment (office, carts, etc.).
11. Direct parent communication of SAC policies and procedures to the Lead Caregiver or School Age Care Coordinator.
12. Attend all meetings and training as determined by SAC Coordinator or Lead Caregiver.
13. Maintain student confidentiality.
14. Record and report any accidents to Lead Caregiver and SAC Coordinator.
15. Provide first aid and report action to Lead Caregiver.
16. Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with all stakeholders through oral, written and electronic means.
17. Attend work regularly.
18. Perform other tasks as assigned by the School Age Care Coordinator.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This work regularly requires sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, occasional pushing, pulling, lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work may require preparing and analyzing written or computer data, and observing general surroundings and activities; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. school cafeteria/playground/passageways).
